Angela, better known to family and friends as Angie, is the President of Barbour Brothers. Angie has an Associates Degree from Wake Tech Community College in Applied Sciences. She resides in Fremont, with husband Craig, and enjoys spending time with her grand-children, horse back riding and volunteering at church; where she and Craig are members of The First Church in Goldsboro.
Craig Barbour, Senior Vice President
Craig is the heart and soul of Barbour Brothers and serves as Senior Vice President, where he manages the day to day operations and field management. With over 35 years of experience in site grading, paving, and landscaping, Craig has been able to lay the ground work for Barbour Brothers continued growth and success and provides senior leadership for all aspects of the company. Craig resides in Fremont, with wife Angela, where he loves spending time with his Australian Shepard, Buddy, and hobby farming.
Joel Barbour, Vice President
Joel is the oldest son of Craig and Angela and serves as Vice President (Administration), where he manages the company's accounting, finances, human resources and marketing. Joel is a proud alumnus of East Carolina University (Bachelors of Science in Small Business and Entrepreneurship). He resides in Goldsboro with his wife, Rebecca, and children, Annsley and Ford. In his spare time Joel enjoys spending time along the Crystal Coast and supporting Pirate athletics. Joel and Rebecca are members of The First Church in Goldsboro.
Justin Barbour, Vice President
Justin is the youngest son of Craig and Angela and serves as the Vice President (Operations), where he oversees all phases of the projects; from pre-construction (estimating), scheduling, and close-out. Justin is a proud alumnus of Southeastern Community College (Associates in Applied Arts) and the University of Southern Mississippi (Bachelors in Construction Engineering Technology). He resides in Goldsboro with his wife, Emily and daughters, Ellie and Etta. Justin enjoys spending his free time outdoors with his Chesapeake Bay retrievers (Camden and Ace) and following Southern Miss athletics. Justin and Emily are members of The First Church in Goldsboro.
Veronica Hernandez, Office Manager
Veronica joined the Barbour Brother's family in 2019 as an administrative assistant and worked tirelessly to earn her role as Office Manager in the Spring of 2021. Veronica is a team player who exemplifies hard work and dedication, which earned her the Judd Barbour Award (Most Versatile) in 2020.
Kennya Castaneda, Administrative Assistant
Kennya joined the team in the fall of 2022 after working as a Human Resource Specialist for a large processing company. A total team player, Kennya assists in various areas of Human Resources and Marketing. Her past experience and knowledge gives her the tools needed to help the administrative team with day to day operations.
Andrew Thorne, Project Manager
A fellow East Carolina Pirate and engineering graduate, Andrew joined the team as a project engineer in early 2022 after serving four years as a designer with an engineering firm in Raleigh. Since starting his tenure at Barbour Brothers, he has worked into the role of Project Manager where he oversees the buyout and submittals of materials, subcontractor procurement, project scheduling, progress billing, and quality control. Andrew is certified in OSHA 30.
Bradley Pate, Project Manager
Bradley is another fellow East Carolina Pirate who joined the team in the summer of 2021. An engineering graduate, he worked part-time in both the field and in the office, using both his course studies and hands on experiences to further educate himself in the grading business. Bradley uses his past field experience and knowledge as valuable tools in his position where he assists with estimating, pre-construction, project scheduling, and progress billing.
Ty Daniels, Field Operations Manager
Ty is the definition of the old adage, "hard work pays off." Starting out as a laborer on a utility crew in October 2021, Ty immediately earned respect from his fellow crew members, foreman, and superintendent by being dependable, hard working, and having a positive attitude. Catching on early by reading plans and assisting with layout and installation, Ty jumped into role of foreman with the emergence of a new crew. Building and developing that crew over the next year, Ty moved into the role of site superintendent, where he oversaw the day to day operations of his respective projects and field crew. Today, Ty leads our company as Field Operations Manager where he oversees logistics, rentals, and safety. Ty is certified in OSHA 30 and Trenching & Excavation.
Ricky Dixon, Fleet Manager
Everyone who knows Ricky, knows Barbour Brothers, and rightfully so. He officially joined the team full time in 2017, but has been around since the beginning. Ricky is the definition of dedication and puts the most hours in, year in and year out. Being tasked with keeping our fleet in "ready" condition, he is responsible for the service and repairs of all trucks and equipment. Ricky is certified in MSHA Part 46 and CPR & First Aid.
Michael Gay, Site Superintendent
Michael is no stranger to commercial and highway projects. With over 25 years in the industry, he has worked for both small and large civil contractors in various positions ranging from equipment operator to site superintendent. Michael joined the Barbour Brother's team in 2019 as a paving foreman but stepped into the role of site superintendent in the Spring of 2020. Michael is certified in OSHA 10.
Shayne Paul, Site Superintendent
Shayne joined the Barbour Brother's team in the fall of 2020 as a transportation specialist, overseeing all equipment mobilization. In the summer of 2021, the opportunity came available for Shayne to take the role of site superintendent. With an education in construction management and a background in agriculture, Shayne has used the tools and knowledge he has acquired over the past 15 years to grow in his position. Shayne is certified in OSHA 30, Trenching & Excavation, MSHA Part 46, and CPR & First Aid.
Andy Cruz, Site Superintendent
Andy joined the Barbour Brother's team in the summer of 2023 after a five year stint as assistant superintendent and junior estimator for a highly respected local general contractor. Prior to his construction career, Andy proudly served four years as corporal in the United States Marine Corps. A native of Pitt County, Andy is an alumnus of Pitt Community College (Associates in Applied Science, Building Construction Technology) and East Carolina University (Bachelors in Construction Management). Andy brings a wealth of knowledge to the field in addition to a positive attitude and friendly demeanor that is admired by all. Andy is certified in OSHA 30.
Mike Bleyer, Utility Superintendent
After fourteen years of dedicated service in law enforcement, Mike joined the team in the Spring of 2022 as an erosion control crew leader. Through hard work and consistency, Mike has worked his way through the ranks of foreman, safety manager, and presently, into his current role of utility superintendent. Mike is certified in Level I and II Erosion and Sediment Control, OSHA 30, Trenching & Excavation, MSHA Part 46, and CPR & First Aid.
Stephen Sloan, Utility Superintendent
Stephen joined the Barbour Brother's team in the spring of 2024 after spending the previous fifteen years in heavy civil infrastructure, working for two of the largest corporations in the Southeast. Bringing his knowledge, experience, and inviting personality, Stephen has been an integral part in helping execute his respective projects as utility superintendent. Stephen is an alumnus of Wayne Community College and is certified in Level I and II Erosion Control and Sediment Control, OSHA 30, CPR & First Aid.
